Funders

Four local foundations – the W.K. Kellogg Foundation, the Skillman Foundation, the Kresge Foundation, and the McGregor Fund — have contributed the initial $13.95 million to fund the launch of 8 new high schools. Our goal is to raise an additional $30 million to open a total of 35 schools by 2018. Our work is a central component of the broader citywide reform effort being coordinated by the Excellent Schools Detroit coalition, which is committed to every Detroit child enrolled in a high-quality by 2020 (www.excellentschoolsdetroit.org).
